This fine specimen forms part of our experimental perfume ingredients collection. You can find our mimosa trees on display in the exhibition tunnel every year. Botanically speaking; this variety of mimosa is referred to as Acacia dealbata. In perfumery, the flowers are used to create a warm, powdery, honey scent, performing as a heart note enriching accord. This is often used to compliment other heady floral fragrances, for example; tuberose, rose and jasmine. But it’s not just the charming flowers that gift their scent. All the bark, roots are resin can be used to create incense. We hope to one day create a fragrance showcasing British-grown mimosa.
