Parterre has been growing and distilling Vetiver oil since 2016. It is a huge success for us to be able to produce an oil that is rarely created outside of Java and Haiti. Its scent is that of a perfumed hay, mixed with notes of whisky, wood and earth.
Our fine Vetiver takes 3 days to distill and we have a teaspoon of oil at the end. It is literally ‘precious’ like a rare gemstone and difficult to obtain. We believe it costs us over £100,000 a litre to produce although we actually only produce a very small quantity per year.
Vetiver is the main ingredient in Root of All Goodness, our rich, earthy woody fragrance.
