Dedicated to perfume and scented plants, our Botanical Collection is the experimental centre of Parterre Fragrances – a collection of rare and unusual plants, based on our working estate, where the key ingredients for our perfumes are grown, harvested and distilled.
The Botanical Collection is where we research, trial and grow our rare ingredients. From Vetiver to Lemongrass, Jasmine to Liquidambar, we develop our unusual perfume notes and ingredients through research, travel, trial and finally production. A considerate and enjoyable journey of scent cultivation that may take us many years.
For example, Irises (or Orris) take 7 years before they become final perfume ingredients, whilst some trees in our collection will be 10 years old before we can collect the essential oil.
We have distilled over 40 different ingredients from our collection so far, and will continually expand these over the years. Meanwhile, each ingredient is assessed and refined with our friends and partners, from Jacques Chabert, the Master Perfumer, to Virginie and Alan our perfume consultants.
