PARTERRE EXTRACTS
Our Perfumes are defined by our scent adventures around the world and the rare extracts that we produce.
Parterre is one of the only perfume houses that grows its own botanical ingredients. We search for rare scented plants and inspiring stories, and then create unique ingredients for our Limited Edition perfumes.
After many years we now have a palette of over 20 plants and extracts. Each one complex in its own way … and a labour of love.
ROSE GERANIUM
Geranium extract has a definite rose scent. But it also has a citrussy, slightly minty freshness.
We are very proud that it was one of the first perfume crops we grew and experts gave it 10 out of 10 from the first harvest.
PERFUME A Tribute To Edith
MONTMARTRE, PARIS
In creating A Tribute to Edith, the rose scent of the Geranium led us to Montmartre in Paris. Nightlife in the 1920s with Edit Piaf singing about enjoying life through rose glasses.
TUBEROSE
Almost hypnotic and considered an aphrodisiac in many countries until recently, the fragrance of this beautiful white floral is rich, creamy and very potent.
In 2025 we reached our goal – to produce a Parterre signature perfume containing our own Tuberose absolute from our own plants. To achieve this we used the painstaking traditional method of extraction known as ‘enfleurage’.

YUCATAN PENINSULA
The hypnotic scent of Tuberose on the breeze, lush vegetation leading to the dramatic shoreline and blue, blue sea. Tropical summer heat merges with cool wild beauty as day turns to night.
PERSIAN CARROT SEED
The original Persian Carrot Seed from the plateau of the Zagros Mountains. We grew and distilled this spicy extract for our gentle Dusk fragrance.

The ancestral home of Wild Carrot Seed is the Persian plateau, a vast, high-altitude region that covers much of the area to the east of the Zagros Mountains.
VETIVER
Rich notes of whisky blend with summer hay.
Our successful experiment in cultivating an extract usually grown in Java and Haiti.

TAMIL NADU, INDIA
Vetiver is a grass, native to India and cultivated widely in the Tamila Nadu region.
BERGAMOT MINT
Parterre has brought a new twist to the concept of Bergamot by growing and extracting Bergamot Mint.

How we grow our ingredients
Transforming rare and important plant varieties into perfume oils requires dedication and skill. The intensity of the scent is achieved through nurturing the plants, picking at the optimum moment and distilling with care. Ingredients can take 7 years to grow and prepare.
Distillation may take days, producing just a few teaspoons of oil. Truly as valuable as gemstones.
The oils produced are then sent to our Master Perfumer in Grasse, where they become signature notes in our fragrances.

At Parterre Fragrances we produce rare perfume defined by the unique natural ingredients that we grow and distil on our botanic, sustainable estate, and expertly crafted by our Master Perfumer in Grasse.
We create these genuinely rare fragrances by working with the natural elements of the environment and the extraordinary world of plants and their botanical properties. Each year a finite number of bottles of perfume are created from each extraction, to offer a true limited edition eau de parfum.
